Daydream List #1: ARC Trooper Fives
Fives assisted in the rescue of Captain Tarkin and Jedi Evan Piell from the Citadel. Later, he was part of the invasion force on Umbara, and questioned the suicidal orders from Jedi General Pong Krell. In the series, Fives was the first Trooper to discover the Clone Protocol 66 inhibitor chip, and attempted to warn the Jedi and his brothers of this order. His suspicions extended up to Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. Fives failed to assassinate Palpatine, and was arrested by Clone Commander CC-1010 "Fox". Fives was executed for his treasonous actions against the Supreme Chancellor.
Three Clones had their inhibitor chips removed based on Fives' discovery: CT-7567 "Rex", CC-3636 "Wolffe" and CT-5576-39 "Greggor." These clones did not turn against the Jedi, and in the series "Rebels", plus various novels, they formed an underground movement that supported training of the Rebels.
Wookiepedia CT-5555 entry.
Fives was loyal, as all Clones were conditioned to be, yet his loyalty was coupled with a questioning nature. As the end of the Clone Wars approached, Fives recognized the behavior of the fallen Jedi Pong Krell and disobeyed orders, even facing a firing squad of his own brothers for his insurrection. Fives was repeatedly shown demonstrating fierce loyalty and even grief for the members of Domino squadron, specifically Echo and Hardcase. He felt more, thought more, questioned more and discovered the corruption festering in the heart of the Republic. He was used as the literary conscience of the 501st, allowing the story of the fall of the Jedi order to be told by a loyal and skilled Clone Trooper.
