Red Silk - worn for Thorvald's Knighting

Once upon a time, I needed an outfit in red and gold for my (then) husband's knighting in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).

I found some gold embroidered silk taffeta with red flowers at Home Fashion Fabrics (now out of business) and ordered the deep crimson dupioni from eBay.

Looking at it now, I see the mistakes I made.  I did not have the shoulder caps/puffs on the sleeve.  The outfit is almost English Elizabethan Era in style.

It's a pretty dress.

Oh yeah, it was over 100 degrees when Thorvald was knighted.
